Olivia is a doctor for a demon-hunting organization. Loren, an elfin prince, is dropped off in front of her building and immediately brought in for treatment. Olivia has never seen such a creature before. As she examines an unconscious Loren, Olivia notices designs that pop up on Loren’s skin wherever she touches him. Olivia turns to make notes and is unaware that Loren has regained consciousness. Loren has no idea where he is or how he got there but he has a pull to this woman in the room who must be the mate he has waited so long for. Loren can heal his own injuries but he needs blood to do. Olivia has no idea what is happening until she feels Loren sink his fangs into her neck. She’s transported to a memory of this happening before and thinks she was going to die. She panics and Loren stops. He immediately realizes that she is scared and he has just started the bonding process with her. Loren’s guards show up and he transports her out of the room before Olivia can even begin to process what has just happened.

Loren has to protect Olivia from his treacherous brother who will destroy her just to make Loren weak. Olivia eventually gives in to her desires and completes the bond with Loren, making them both stronger. Olivia is captured and taken to a place where Loren can not feel the bond. With the help of the Third Demon King, Sable, and Bleu, Loren will rescue and finally defeat his brother. However, when Loren finds Olivia she is tied up and not able to tell him that his brother is under the influence of a witch. They are able to defeat the witch but the guilt of what Veil has done under her influence is too much. Veil disappears and the rest head home.
The next book in the series, Claimed by a Demon King, features Sable.
