Have you ever had a pen pal? Maybe you had one as a kid as writing letters has become a thing of the past. In this story, Griffin and Luca have been pen pals since they were children. They told each other everything and even harbored secret crushes on each other. Tragedy in Elodie’s life causes her to become a recluse and stop writing to Griffin. They reconnect after Griffen writes a drunken rant to Elodie. While reading this letter, Elodie realizes what a poor friend she was and how much she misses him. To explain herself Elodie writes a letter, or better yet a novel, detailing the events that led to her silence.
Elodie has been working on her fears with the help of her therapist. She doesn’t go into crowded places or drives in traffic. These things will send her into a panic attack. Doc has been working with Elodie to overcome her fears when he decides she needs to take a road trip to finally meet Griffin in person. The biggest problem is that she has no idea what his real name is or who he is to the public.
To tell you more would be a tragedy. You must read this book. I loved it and so will you.
